We all know the importance of water…. If you don’t drink water you will die (yeah it sounds harsh, but is a reality).
Water flushes out bad bacteria to prevent disease, reduce joint pain and is the main source of nutrient transportation through the body. We’ll say it again: it is the main source of nutrient transportation through the body.
The problem is that not many of us drink enough. It’s hard to choose water when there are so many other drink options to choose from like soda, energy drinks, sports drinks, and coffee. We all understand that we need water to survive. In order to make a difference in your life (weight loss, energy increase) you need a lot more than the bare minimum. If you want to see a change, the first huge step is to increase your water intake and decrease some of the other stuff!
Here are some tips that will help you increase your water intake.
- Track Your Water Intake. Make a chart that you can cross off after you drink water. (8 cups a day at minimum or try for half your bodyweight in ounces)
- Make Water more Convenient. Have it on hand – keep it in a bottle near you that always has some in it. Out of sight out of mind. Let’s change that!
- Make it more Interesting. Try putting lemons, or different types of fruits in it to give it extra flavor. For those of you who crave carbonation, try carbonated water.
